I’ve been Horse Obsessed Since I was a Child – The Story Behind Success

Working in the equestrian industry can be challenging at times but there is one thing that unites us all and that is an ingrained passion.

Meet our Saddle Fitting Tutor, Claire Whitfield. Claire has been horse obsessed since she was 10 and dedicates her life to their care and wellbeing.

After working in the equestrian industry all of her professional life Claire joined the team at Saddles Direct and shortly after became a student of the IASF. Claires dedication, passion and talent shone through and in 2024 Claire joined the IASF team as a tutor and assessor.

As a riding instructor Claire would often encounter situations where the horse and rider were suffering due to the fit of their saddle and wanted to be able to improve these situations. Now she wants to help others by sharing her knowledge, helping horse owners and aspiring saddle fitters learn all they can to help protect the horses wellbeing.

Along with teaching and assessing at the IASF Claire is a fundamental member of the Saddles Direct Team. The partnership between the IASF and Saddles Direct has grown over the years and brings many benefits to horse owners and professional saddle fitters.

The ability to trial saddles without risk is a vital service and Saddles Direct make this possible. Horse owners can work with their saddle fitter to select various saddles from a wide range of brands to find the most appropriate saddle for their objectives.
